Day 1: Hanoi - Arrival

Landing in Vietnam, the S-shaped land where 54 ethnic groups call home, marks the beginning of your adventure. Upon arrival, our warm and friendly guide, along with your driver, will greet you and provide a comfortable transfer to your hotel in the heart of Hanoi.

Once settled, the rest of the day is yours to explore at your own pace. You might choose to unwind after your journey or dive straight into the city’s bustling atmosphere. From hidden alleyways to bustling markets, Hanoi invites you to discover its charm. If you’re in the mood to sample local cuisine, our guide will gladly recommend must-try dishes—perhaps starting with a steaming bowl of ‘Pho,’ the city’s most famous culinary export.

Day 2: Hanoi - Transfer to Ha Giang

Morning:
Your adventure begins with a pickup from Hanoi’s Old Quarter, followed by a scenic drive through the Red River Delta, passing through the peaceful countryside of Viet Tri and Tuyen Quang. Arriving in Tuyen Quang, a charming town known for its rolling emerald tea plantations, you will have the chance to savor the authentic flavors while relaxing in this tranquil setting.

Afternoon:
The journey continues toward Ha Giang, where the scenery transforms into a stunning display of gently rolling hills, serene villages, and vibrant rice fields dotted with graceful palm trees. Along the way, we will stop to visit a traditional village of the Black Tay ethnic people, taking a glimpse into their daily life and rich cultural heritage. Upon arriving in Ha Giang town in the late afternoon, take your time to rest and recharge, preparing for the exciting experiences that await.

Day 3: Ha Giang - Dong Van

Morning:
Wake up early, start the day with a beautiful sunrise over the mountain then head for breakfast to fuel up for the day. Our first stop is Quan Ba Heaven’s Gate, a stunning viewpoint offering panoramic views of the mountains and the Twin Fairy Mountains, a symbol of Ha Giang. We will travel along winding roads, passing lush valleys and terraced rice fields, before stopping in Tam Son, a charming mountain town, to enjoy a delicious local lunch.

Afternoon:
You will visit the Hmong King’s Palace (Vuong Palace), a historic mansion that once belonged to the influential Vuong family. The palace features a unique blend of Chinese, French, and Hmong architecture, offering a glimpse into the region’s rich cultural heritage. The journey continues through the Dong Van Karst Plateau, a UNESCO Global Geopark famous for its dramatic limestone landscapes and geological significance. Upon arrival in Dong Van, you will check into your hotel and have time to relax in this historic mountain town, surrounded by stunning natural scenery. Indulge in a delightful dinner at a local restaurant and have a taste of authentic regional specialties.  Afterward, enjoy your free time exploring the Dong Van Old Quarter. If the day falls on the weekend, you will have the chance to participate in local cultural activities.

Day 4: Dong Van - Meo Vac - Cao Bang

Morning:
Today, we set off for an epic adventure! But first, if you’re lucky to be here on a Sunday, head to Dong Van market for an energetic morning with ethnic minority communities. On another day, we can arrange a visit to Lui Market for another chance to experience the vibrant local trade and culture. From there, we will start to conquer Ma Pi Leng Pass, one of Vietnam’s most jaw-dropping mountain roads. At 1,200 meters above sea level, this 20km stretch delivers breathtaking views of rugged peaks and deep, peaceful valleys. We will make a stop at Ma Pi Leng Skywalk, a thrilling cliffside path offering unbeatable aerial views of the limestone mountains and the winding Nho Que River. Next up, we will come down to the Nho Que River for a boat tour through Tu San Canyon, the deepest canyon in Southeast Asia. Surrounded by emerald waters and towering cliffs, it’s a scene straight out of a postcard. Wrap up the morning adventure in Meo Vac Valley with a flavor-packed local lunch.

Afternoon:
Travel from the scenic landscapes of Meo Vac to Ba Be National Park in Cao Bang. In the evening, you will reach a charming ecolodge, check in, and have a nice rest.

Day 5: Cao Bang - Ba Be Lake

Morning:
Wake up in your lakeside accommodation and feel the fresh air over Ba Be National Park. After breakfast, board a traditional wooden boat for a lovely cruise on Ba Be Lake, Vietnam’s largest natural freshwater lake. Our next stop is the Dau Dang Waterfall, a stunning cascade nestled deep in the jungle. The sight and sound of the rushing water against the mossy rocks create a mesmerizing scene. We will make a stop at a Tay ethnic minority village, where you can immerse yourself in their traditional stilt houses, learn about their customs, and witness their unbothered way of life. This is where you’ll enjoy a local lunch, savoring authentic Northern Vietnamese cuisine.

Afternoon:
Our journey continues as we depart to Cao Bang City, driving through winding mountain roads, lush valleys, and serene countryside. Upon arrival, check into your hotel and take some time to relax and recover from a long journey.

Day 6: Cao Bang - Ban Gioc Waterfall

Morning:
Start the day with a visit to the local market, where you’ll experience the authentic daily life and explore fresh produce and handmade goods. The next stop is Ban Gioc Pagoda, offering a breathtaking panorama view of the area and the Ban Gioc Waterfall from above. From there, we will continue to the magnificent Ban Gioc Waterfall, Vietnam’s widest waterfall, with water cascading 30 meters high and 300 meters across. You will get to take a bamboo boat ride to the waterfall’s base, close enough to feel the refreshing mist. Later, we will return to the resort for lunch and relaxation to prepare for an energetic afternoon.

Afternoon:
Your journey will go on with a visit to Nguom Ngao Cave with impressive stalactites and stalagmites. Inside, you’ll find limestone chambers and formations resembling all kinds of shapes, creating a fantastic and mystical atmosphere. Nearby is the Khuoi Ky Ancient Stone Village, home to 16 Tay ethnic households. The village features stone stilt houses and stone fences from the 16th century, reflecting the Tay people’s belief in the Stone God. Moving on to the next site, Phong Nam Valley and Dam Thuy Suspension Bridge, you will enter a fairy tale with gorgeous rice fields and jungle-covered mountains. Get out of the car and have a short trek to the local village, where you can experience daily life in the border region. Afterwards, return to the hotel and enjoy your free time to unwind.

Day 7: Cao Bang - Back to Hanoi - Free & Easy

Morning:
Enjoy your breakfast, check out, and our guide and driver will pick you up from the hotel for the journey back to Hanoi. Along the way, we will stop by a local restaurant to have a delicious lunch, offering a taste of the region’s authentic cuisine.

Afternoon:
When you reach the hotel in Hanoi, check in and spend your free time relaxing or exploring this bustling city at your own pace.

Day 8: Hanoi - Departure

As your journey through Northeast Vietnam comes to an end, spend the final moments of your stay at your own pace and maybe pick up some last-minute souvenirs. When you’re ready, our driver will be there to pick you up from your hotel and provide a comfortable transfer to the airport, ensuring a smooth journey for your departing flight.
