Day 1: Hanoi - Arrival

Welcome to Hanoi, the capital of Vietnam. Vibrant, inviting, and delightful – the city reveals itself with your first glimpse of scooters whizzing through the streets. Yet in contrast to the city’s modern tempo, the echoes of history still resonate in many architectural sites, reflecting the eras of dynasties and French influence.

No matter your flight schedule, our friendly guide and driver will warmly welcome you upon arrival and take you to your hotel in the city center. Once settling in, you will have a chance to explore Hanoi at your leisure. While no meals have been planned for today, why not fill your stomach with some local dishes? If your taste buds need direction, our guide can introduce to you a Vietnamese restaurant in Michelin Guide.

Day 2: Sapa - Cat Cat Village

Day 2: Sapa - Cat Cat Village

Morning:
Wake up early today for a 5-hour ride to Sapa. Established as a hill station by French colonialists in 1922, Sapa is a world of rolling hills cloaked with tumbling terraces and shadowed by Vietnam’s highest peaks. Did you know Sapa was originally developed as a retreat for French officers to escape the summer heat? Although the town center is now a bustling tourist hub, venture into the distant villages, and you’ll discover serene streams trickling through valleys, traditional stilt houses perched on hillsides, and locals tending to fields of rice, corn, fruit, and vegetables.

Afternoon:
Upon arrival in Sapa, we’ll make our way to Cat Cat Village, nestled at the base of Muong Hoa Valley. This village was founded in the 19th century by Hmong and Dzao families. As you descend the stone-paved steps, you’ll be greeted by scenes straight out of a postcard – terraced rice fields framed by steep, wooded slopes. Further ahead, crossing the suspension bridge, you’ll come upon the Cat Cat waterfall, once powered the nearby hydroelectric plant built by the French over 100 years ago. After exploring Cat Cat, we’ll visit the town square, where the stone church has stood strong since the 19th century. Afterwards, you can spend the rest of your day enjoying Sapa at night. Perhaps you’ll enjoy a warm coffee and freshly roasted chestnuts, savoring the mountain town’s chilly evening.

Day 3: Sapa - Fansipan Peak

Day 3: Sapa - Fansipan Peak

Morning:
Today we’ll conquer the highest peak in Vietnam, Fansipan Mountain. In the past, reaching the summit required two days of hard trekking, but now, thanks to the world’s longest cable car route, we can reach the ‘Roof of Indochina’ in just 15 minutes. As you board the cabin, you’ll soar above lush rice terraces and rugged cliffs, marveling at the breathtaking views through the expansive windows. Upon reaching the station, you’ll have the option to ascend the highest point via 630 stairs or a funicular rail. Once at the top, it’s time to capture the panorama of cloud-covered peaks stretching to the horizon.

Afternoon:
Let’s pack our bags and head away from the bustling center to Topas Ecolodge, our stay for the next two nights. Perched on a hilltop and surrounded by terraced rice fields, this eco-friendly retreat offers a chance to truly immerse yourself in nature and local culture. After a day of conquering Fansipan, you might want to book a traditional Red Dao herbal bath at the lodge’s spa? Or simply sit back and marvel at the breathtaking panoramic views of the valley from your room.

Day 4: Sapa - Free & Easy

Day 4: Sapa - Free & Easy

Morning:
You have the whole morning to freely explore the beauty of Sapa. If you’re still curious about the local ethnic communities, why not borrow a bike and pedal to the surrounding areas. As you descend into the vast valley, following village paths, you’ll encounter a vibrant tapestry of daily life. You might see villagers weaving traditional textiles, drying corn, or even harvesting rice on the fields. If you only want to relax, head over to the resort’s infinity pool. With the majestic landscape stretching out before you, it’s the perfect spot to unwind and snap that must-have photo everyone talks about when visiting Topas.

Afternoon:
It’s time to say goodbye to Sapa and return to Hanoi. After a full day of travel, treat yourself to the culinary delights around Dong Xuan Market. Explore the array of street food stalls and savor dishes that capture the essence of Hanoi’s rich culinary heritage.
