Welcome to Hanoi, the capital of Vietnam. Vibrant, inviting, and delightful – the city reveals itself with your first glimpse of scooters whizzing through the streets. Yet in contrast to the city’s modern tempo, the echoes of history still resonate in many architectural sites, reflecting the eras of dynasties and French influence.
No matter your flight schedule, our friendly guide and driver will warmly welcome you upon arrival and take you to your hotel in the city center. Once settling in, you will have a chance to explore Hanoi at your leisure. While no meals have been planned for today, why not fill your stomach with some local dishes? Day 2: Hanoi - City & Street food tour

After breakfast, we’ll start at Ho Chi Minh’s Mausoleum and his traditional stilt house to learn about the inspiring legacy of ‘Uncle Ho’, Vietnam’s beloved former leader. Following our exploration is the unique architecture of One Pillar Pagoda, shaped like a lotus blossom. Our guide then takes you to the Temple of Literature, hailed as Vietnam’s first university, with doctoral steles dating back 1000 years.
Afternoon:
You continue the visit to Vietnam Museum of Ethnology, which focuses on the 54 officially recognized ethnic groups in Vietnam. Returning to the city centre, we’ll have an orientation walk to Dong Xuan Market, which has almost everything you can think of, from fresh produce to clothing, souvenirs, and consumer goodss. Then, head to the Old Quarter, passing by Hoan Kiem Lake and diving into Hanoi’s vibrant street food scene. At quaint eateries with only a few plastic tables and stools, we’ll savor dishes that have earned praise even from Michelin inspectors. Day 3: Ninh Binh - Trang An Grottoes
Morning:
You’ll leave Hanoi for Ninh Binh, often called ‘Ha Long Bay on land’, known for its winding river flowing amidst towering limestone mountains. Upon arrival, you’ll visit Hoa Lu’s two remaining temples, both built with dark-red lacquered pillars. The first, Dinh Tien Hoang Temple, dates back to the 17th century and honors the Dinh dynasty. Inside, you’ll find bronze bells and a statue of Emperor Dinh Tien Hoang, with the stone pedestal of a royal throne at the front. The second temple is dedicated to monarch Le Dai Hanh, who had great contributions in building and protecting the country in the 10th century.
Afternoon:
Conclude your day in Ninh Binh with a rowboat cruise along the waterways of the UNESCO World Heritage-listed Trang An Grottoes. Marvel at the thousands of stalagmites overhead inside karst peaks and witness the serene rice paddy fields along your route. Afterwards, we’ll return to Hanoi.

Day 4: Lan Ha Bay - Luxury cruise trip
Morning:
Let’s swap city bustle for serene seas today as we’re off on an exciting journey to Lan Ha Bay. After a cozy ride in a private car to the port, you’ll check in and board a luxurious cruise, ready to reveal the untouched beauty of this UNESCO-listed natural wonder. Once the captain sets sail, it’s time to fill your tummy with a delicious lunch and feast your eyes with odd-shaped limestone pillars and hidden coves along the way.
Afternoon:
A bamboo boat awaits to cruise you through a 70-meter water passage of Sang Cave, where you can marvel at the majestic limestone formations above your head. After that, our cruise will drop achor in Tra Bau, a tranquil area with emerald waters where you can enjoy a refreshing swim. When the sun sets, head back to the cruise for a breathtaking view from the top deck, followed by a traditional Vietnamese cooking class. Conclude the day with a delightful dinner and an overnight stay amidst the exotic landscape of Lan Ha bay. Day 5: Lan Ha Bay - Cat Ba National Park
Morning:
Waking up to the melody of waves lapping against the cruise, your day begins with a Tai-Chi session on deck and a warm breakfast after. Today we hop on Cat Ba Island for a hiking outing in Cat Ba National Park. Discovering this UNESCO biosphere reserve, it’s your chance to get to know a variety of rare species. As we go further, we’ll explore Trung Trang Cave with magnificent stalactites and stalagmites. Returning to your cruise, save this time to soak in the panoramic bay views as we cruise back to the shore.

Once we’re back in Hanoi, depending on the flight schedule, you’ll head to Da Nang in Central Vietnam. Our guide and driver will be there to welcome you and let your family enjoy a bit of downtime in this ‘best living city’ in Vietnam. Finally, our driver will depart for Hoi An, where you’ll be staying for the next two days.

Day 6: Hoi An - Tra Que Village
Morning:
Today’s your chance to experience life as a local farmer. You can choose between a leisurely bike ride or a comfy ride in a private car to visit Tra Que Vegetable Village. Did you know this 400-year-old farm village actually supplies organic veggies for all Hoi An and its neighboring areas? When you arrive, get your hands dirty and learn the age-old art of cultivating and harvesting veggies alongside skilled farmers. Then, head to a local family’s home for a cooking class, where you’ll whip up your own traditional Hoi An lunch using freshly picked veggies from the village.

But now, the city has transformed to become a dynamic commercial hub with modern skyscrapers and lively streets. Upon arrival, our friendly guide and driver will warmly welcome you and take you to your hotel in the city center.

It’s time to discover some of the most iconic spots in HCMC! We’ll embark on insightful history tours at the Reunification Palace and the War Remnants Museum, which document significant milestones of Vietnam’s history, particularly the war period from 1955 to 1975. Following this, we’ll visit the Central Post Office, renowned for its stunning colonial French architecture with elements of Gothic and Renaissance styles. Day 9: Ho Chi Minh City - Cu Chi Tunnels
Morning:
Your day begins with an incredible journey to Cu Chi Tunnels. We’ll explore just a small part of this 250 km underground network built by Vietnamese back in the wartime. These massive tunnels were not only war shelters but also kitchens, hospitals, command centers and secret storages for food and weapons. While crawling through the tunnels, you’ll hear incredible stories about the Viet Cong guerrillas who lived, fought, or even sacrificed here during the Vietnam War.

Let’s head back to the city center, and our guide will take you to the ChinaTown of HCMC, District 5. You’ll first explore Thien Hau Temple, well-known for its intricate architecture and grand coils of incense hanging overhead. You can also buy some souvenirs in the lively atmosphere of Binh Tay Market nearby. Our trip for today will end with a visit to Cha Tam Church, a symbol of religious harmony and cultural diversity in Vietnam, with a blend of Gothic and Chinese architecture.

Day 10: Mui Ne - Sand Dunes

After breakfast, we’ll have a 4-hour car ride to Mui Ne, leaving the bustling city behind. Upon arrival, you’ll be taken to your hotel in downtown.

Your adventure unfolds with a visit to the enchanting Suoi Tien, or Fairy Stream. Feel the clay mud between your toes as we leisurely follow a gentle stream winding through a stunning red canyon, which resembles a mini version of the Grand Canyon. Our next stop is ‘Sahara Desert of Vietnam’, White Sand Dunes, where you can enjoy thrilling activities such as sandboarding or quad-bike rides on steep sand slopes (at your own expense). Continue to Red Sand Dunes, where you can you can marvel at the shifting hues brought on by the sunlight. Day 14: Mekong Delta - Village boat trip

Journeying out of the city, we head to the lush countryside of the Mekong Delta, often called ‘Vietnam’s rice bowl’ because of its abundance of rice paddies, fruit orchards, and flower gardens. On arrival at Cai Be, you’ll hop onto your private sampan for a leisure ride on Mekong Delta’s waterways. Gliding through the maze of small canals, it’s your chance to fully understand the simple yet heartwarming lifestyle of the locals. You’ll be welcome to some local cottage industries and taste some freshly made coconut candy and pop-rice right from the source.
Afternoon:
Get back on board and continue your cruise towards Vinh Long. We’ll stop by An Binh Island to visit a local orchard, picking seasonal fruits straight from the trees and sipping on tea while enjoying some lively traditional music. Continue crossing Mekong River to a hundred-year-old brick kiln, where you can see the whole process of traditional brickmaking and pottery crafting up close. As the day winds down, we’ll hit the road to Can Tho, the heart of Mekong Delta.

Morning:
Time to wake up bright and early to catch the vibrant Cai Rang Floating Market before the sun fully rises. You’ll board a sampan boat and cruise through the lively trading scene of Cai Rang where vendors crowd together with their goods piled high on boats. Why not buy a bowl of hu tieu and savor it right onboard, just like Masterchef Gordon Ramsey did and absolutely adored? Once you’re back on land, our driver transfers you to Chau Doc. Along the way, we’ll stop by Tra Su Cajuput Forest for a rowing boat ride along the meandering waterways surrounded by tall cajuput trees. Don’t forget to grab your camera and capture picturesque views of the abundant biodiversity here.

When you arrive in Chau Doc, your day will be spent exploring the spiritual complex of Sam Mountain. Rising 284m above sea level, it is home to around 200 temples, pagodas, and shrines spread across its slopes. Afterwards, you can freely discover Chau Doc at night.

Day 16: Phnom Penh - Free & Easy

Wake up early for today because we’ll have a very special 5-hour boat trip cruising along the tranquil Mekong River to the capital of Cambodia, Phnom Penh. Once hailed as the ‘Pearl of the Orient’, Phnom Penh has endured many ups and downs alongside the Tonle Sap River. Much of its former grace was destroyed by war and genocide in the 1970s. Yet this capital city has persevered into the 21st century with optimism, bravery, and panache. Visitors are enchanted by its sacred Khmer architectures, the presence of saffron-robed monks, and the nostalgic French colonial charm, all infused with a youthful, cosmopolitan atmosphere. Moreover, Phnom Penh boasts a vibrant food scene that is still a hidden gem on the culinary map.

Day 17: Phnom Penh - City tour
Morning:
We’ll begin with a visit to the Royal Palace, used to be the official residence of King Sihamoni. Right within the royal complex, we’ll explore the Silver Pagoda, which is covered with 5 tonnes of gleaming silver. Inside is a stunning collection of Buddha statues made of precious metals. Next, we’ll head to Wat Phnom, situated atop the only ‘hill’ in town. Fun fact: Legend has it that this temple’s spiritual tale, centered around its founder Lady Penh, drew countless visitors and contributed to the city’s expansion. As a tribute to Lady Penh, the capital city was later named after her.
Afternoon:
Get ready in formal attire because we’re heading to the ‘Killing Fields’ of Choeng Ek and Tuol Sleng Museum (formerly the S-21 prison). These places resemble the pages of a tragic history book, documenting the darkest chapter of Cambodia under the dictatorship of Khmer Rouge. Take a moment to pay tribute to the thousands of victims who were detained and subjected to torture at S-21 before being sent to the extermination camp. Later, if there’s time, we can explore Toul Tumpong Market for some shopping.

Day 18: Siem Reap - City tour
Morning:
It’s time to say goodbye to Phnom Penh for the flight to Siem Reap. Upon arrival, our friendly guide and driver will warmly welcome you and take you to your hotel in the city center.
Afternoon:
We begin our first day in Siem Reap with a scenic trip around the city. You’ll visit the 18th-century Wat Bo, one of the oldest Buddhist temples here. Be amazed by the well-preserved wall paintings dating back to the late 19th century, depicting scenes from the Hindu epic, Ramayana. Then we’ll discover the legacy of Cambodian craftmanship at the Artisans Angkor (Les Chantiers Écoles) with a collection of wood and stone carvings, traditional silk paintings, and lacquerware. It’s surprising to learn that many of those artisan products are made by impoverished young Cambodian who were trained to carry on the tradition. Conclude our visit at one of the city’s lively open markets Psar Chaa (Old Market) where everything is for sale from handicrafts and souvenirs to fresh produces.

Day 19: Siem Reap - Roluos Group
Morning:
We’ll start our journey by heading to the outskirts of Siem Reap. Our first destination is the picturesque Preah Dak village, offering a glimpse into the local country life. Continue to the terracotta-hued walls of Banteay Srei, also known as the “Citadel of Women,” where you’ll be mesmerized by intricate 10th-century carvings depicting female characters. Then, we’ll visit the impressive Banteay Samre, constructed during the same period as Angkor Wat and renowned as one of the finest and most intact Khmer monuments.
Afternoon:
For the rest of the day, we’ll be exploring the Roluos Group, which is the oldest temple site in Siem Reap and served as the first capital of the ancient Angkor Empire, known as Hariharalaya. This group consists of four main temples: Preah Ko, Lolei, Bakong, and Prasat Prei Monti, all dating back to the late 9th century. These temples are invaluable evidence of the early stages of Khmer civilization.

Day 20: Siem Reap - Angkor Temples
Morning:
Our day begins with a visit to Angkor Thom, a fortified city that houses iconic sites like the Terrace of Elephants, the Royal Enclosure, and the Temple of Bayon, known for its giant smiling Buddha faces. We’ll explore the dense tree canopy to discover the moss-covered ruins of Ta Prohm, a Buddhist temple made mainstream by the film ‘Tomb Raider’. Wander through its towers, courtyards, and corridors to find out intricate stone reliefs that are hidden by ancient giant roots and lush foliage.

We’ll pass by stone faces watching over us at South Gate of Angkor Thom to reach Cambodia’s national icon and Khmer people’s pride, Angkor Wat. Do you know that this UNESCO-listed wonder stands as the world’s largest temple monument? The sacred site holds significant cultural importance in Hindu mythology, symbolizing the peaks of Mount Meru, the Gods’ dwelling. Day 21: Siem Reap - Tonle Sap
Morning:
We’ll journey south to experience life on the expansive Tonle Sap Lake, the largest freshwater lake in Southeast Asia. It is also a vital source of fish towards the locals’ livelihood. Get on a kayak and explore this exotic landscape, where hundreds of fishing families reside in stilted wooden houses positioned directly above the water.
Afternoon:
Your journey across iconic destinations in Vietnam and Cambodia comes to its end. After breakfast today, you’ll get the morning to yourself – no scheduled activities.
