Welcome to the vibrant Ho Chi Minh City (HCMC), previously known as Saigon. Just one generation ago, HCMC was a war zone. But now, the city has transformed to become a financial and commercial hub with modern skyscrapers and lively streets. Yet it hasn’t forgotten its past! You can easily find serene pagodas and temples, where the smell of incense fills the air with peace. And if you’re eager to learn more about the city’s history, there are plenty of museums filled with artifacts, stories and memories.

No matter your flight schedule, our friendly guide and driver will warmly welcome you upon arrival and take you to your hotel in the city center. Once settling in, you will have a chance to explore HCMC at your leisure.

Morning:

Your day begins with an incredible journey to Cu Chi Tunnels. We’ll explore just a small part of this 250 km underground network built by Vietnamese back in the wartime. These massive tunnels were not only war shelters but also kitchens, hospitals, command centers and secret storages for food and weapons. While crawling through the tunnels, you’ll hear incredible stories about the Viet Cong guerrillas who lived, fought, or even sacrificed here during the Vietnam War. It’ll make you appreciate the peace we enjoy today even more.

Afternoon:

Let’s head back to the city center, and our guide will take you to the ChinaTown of HCMC, District 5. You’ll first explore Thien Hau Temple, well-known for its intricate architecture and grand coils of incense hanging overhead. Next, wander through Hao Si Phuong Alley, lined with old but colorful apartment buildings. You can also buy some souvenirs in the lively atmosphere of Binh Tay Market nearby. Our trip for today will end with a visit to Cha Tam Church, a symbol of religious harmony and cultural diversity in Vietnam, with a blend of Gothic and Chinese architecture.

Morning:

Journeying out of the city, we head to the Mekong Delta. Did you know that Mekong Delta is often called as ‘Vietnam’s rice bowl’ because its fertile lands yield much of the country’s rice? When we arrive at Vinh Long, we’ll hop onto a boat and cruise along Mekong River to An Binh Island. Our first stop is the local cottage industries where we can taste some freshly made rice paper, coconut candy, and pop-rice right from the source. Later, you’ll be welcome to visit a local homestay with a huge orchand, allowing you to pluck fruits straight from the trees. For lunch, savor a unique meal served right on your boat, with mouthwatering Mekong specialties, as we cruise back to shore.

Afternoon:

Once our bellies are full, it’s time to explore the village of hundred-year-old brick kilns. You’ll see the whole process of traditional brickmaking and pottery crafting up close. Then, get back to our boat and glide through the maze of small canals, fully immersing yourself into the simple yet heartwarming lifestyle of the Mekong people. As the day winds down, we’ll return to Ho Chi Minh City for your flight to Da Nang, followed by a transfer to Hoi An.

Today we’re heading out bright and early to Duy Hai Fishing Village. You’ll witness the bustling activity of hard-working fishermen unloading their whole night’s catch, while merchants hustle for the freshest picks of fish. Dive deeper into the village, it’s time to discover the secrets behind local fish specialties like dried fish and fish sauce. Head to our next stop, Bay Mau Coconut Forest, where we glide through the serene Hoi An riverside on a basket boat. You can try some thrilling boat dancing or shop for beautiful handicrafts made from coconut leaves. Take a rest at a local home for a soothing foot massage and lend a hand in preparing your own traditional lunch.

Afternoon:

After you finish up your meal, let’s return to Hoi An town and dive into exploring this UNESCO World Heritage site. Lace up your shoes because today you’re going to Da Nang, Vietnam’s ‘best living city’. Our journey starts at Non Nuoc Stone Carving Village, a place with over 300 years of history. Be mesmerized by the stone masterpieces crafted by skilled artisans who pour their hearts and souls into their work day and night. From the village, your gaze will naturally be drawn to our next destination nearby, the magnificent Marble Mountains. The mountains have a harmonious blend of structures and nature, with caves, tunnels, towers, and pagodas. Sure, you’ll have to tackle a few flights of stairs to reach the summit, but the breathtaking panoramas make every step worth it. Next up, we’ll make our way to the heart of Da Nang to explore the Museum of Cham Sculpture. Don’t let its size fool you; this small museum contains the world’s largest collection of Cham ethnic artifacts dating back from the 5th to 15th centuries.

Afternoon:

Our journey continues to Linh Ung Pagoda, where Vietnam’s tallest Goddess of Mercy Statue is located. From there, you’ll be treated to an incredible panoramic view of the entire Son Tra Peninsula, complete with charming fishing villages and stunning beaches stretching into the distance. Afterwards, we’ll hit the road along the scenic Hai Van Pass, with jaw-dropping vistas of the boundless ocean, before arriving at Hue, the former imperial capital of Vietnam.

Your day begins with a romantic boat journey along the Perfume River to visit Thien Mu Pagoda, the seven-storey historic symbol of Hue. Then hop on a bike and pedal your way through the serene countryside to La Chu Village, passing rice fields, lotus ponds and vegetable farms. Your cycling ride ends at a local family’s house, where you’ll be greeted with open arms. It’s time to roll up your sleeves for a small cooking class, preparing some Hue specialties for your lunch. Especially, all the ingredients are sourced locally from La Chu, giving your meal that extra local flavor. After satisfying your taste buds, why not treat your tired feet to a traditional foot bath infused with local herbs?

Your whole afternoon is to visit to the UNESCO Heritage Site of Imperial Citadel. Built back in the 19th century, this complex was once the royal palace of Vietnam’s last dynasty, the Nguyen. Inside those ancient walls, you’ll discover a treasure trove of significant public buildings, lavish residences, and sacred places of worship.

Upon arrival you will have the rest of your day to visit Phong Nha – Ke Bang National Park. Inscribed on the World Heritage List in 2003, Phong Nha is truly a natural paradise for any adventurer. Over millions of years, floods have sculpted the world’s largest caves here, while meandering rivers weave through ancient karsts and jungle-clad mountains create an otherworldly scene. You’ll relish a 25-minute boat ride along the river through the majestic Phong Nha Cave, celebrating its towering stalagmites. You can also ask the boat rower for a small trek deeper into the cave to get up close and personal with the stunning rock formations.
